Deep wall crack needs further evaluation

In this picture, you can see a diagonal wall crack stemming from a door frame. It's hard to see in this picture, but the crack is quite wide and actually penetrates thru to the other side of the wall/door frame. The other side has been patched and has cracked again. If my buyer were buying this home, I would recommend having a structural engineer inspect this crack and the home for any sort of movement / more than allowable settling.
